After a long wait, the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was released about two months ago. However, the sequel The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was not just supposed to be a sequel, but set new standards and ideas. Together with Nintendo Germany, we are now giving away two copies of the game for the Nintendo Switch.

In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom we return to Hyrule after an unknown time after the events of Breath of the Wild . Link and Zelda are on the trail of a phenomenon in the underground of Hyrule Castle. A dark force known as miasma has quickly spread across Hyrule and plagues the land. Events pile up and a mummy that has been hidden for years comes to life again. Now it's up to Link to stop the darkness over Hyrule. On his way he meets new and familiar friends and enemies, discovers mysterious temples and solves tricky puzzles. The game features an open world that stretches from sky to ground and mysterious underground, and a dynamic combat system that will put your skills to the test.

Skills at Link's side

And skills are a good keyword, because there are quite a few of them in the sequel. The developers have come up with a number of new ideas to increase the gaming experience compared to its predecessor. These five skills will help Link on his adventure:

1. Ultra hand

This ability allows Link to remotely manipulate nearby objects – rotating them, connecting them, dropping them, and even building platforms. The Ultra Hand becomes an indispensable aid in Tears of the Kingdom and is used in almost all shrines and temples.

2. Synthesis (Fusion)

Synthesis is an ability that allows Link to fuse weapons or shields with various elements from the game world to create new pieces of equipment with unique effects. This is how powerful weapons are made from branches, hard-wearing shields or arrows from stones for all situations.

3. Ceiling jump

With the ceiling jump, Link can move through ceilings, caves or buildings. It enables short distances and can be used practically anywhere where a ceiling is within reach.

4. Time reversal

This ability is used to “rewind” the movement of objects. It is especially useful for solving tricky puzzles. The possible uses are very diverse.

5. Bautomatic (Autobuild)

Tired of rebuilding popular builds over and over again? Bautomatic can save blueprints and automatically assemble objects, replacing missing parts with Sonanium. Hidden in the depths of the underground, it is available as part of the main quest The Temple Below.

Creativity is required to enter our The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Sweepstakes! We want you to create your own unique ability for adventuring in Hyrule alongside the known abilities. What special ability would you wish for? Give the ability a name and describe its function. All ideas end up in a lottery pot, from which the winners are drawn.
