LEONINE Anime will release »Evangelion 3.0+1.01« this year on disc
The fourth film in the Rebuild of Evangelion series, Evangelion 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon A Time , has been available exclusively on Prime Video for two years now. An advertisement in the program of this year's AnimagiC now indicates that LEONINE Anime is releasing the conclusion of the film series on disc.
According to the advertisement, LEONINE Anime will release the film Evangelion 3.0+1.01: Thrice Upon A Time on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray in autumn 2023 . Further details about the planned disc release are still pending. These may follow as part of AnimagiC 2023.
For Evangelion 3.0+1.01 Kazuya Tsurumaki, Katsuichi Nakayama and Mahiro Maeda once again served as directors, as well as creator Hideaki Anno. After several postponements, the approximately two-and-a-half-hour graduation film celebrated its theatrical premiere in Japan on March 8, 2021. An improved version hit theaters on June 12, 2021.
The 26-part anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion found its way onto the SVOD platform Netflix in June 2019 after years of abstinence on the German market. In recent years, LEONINE Anime has released both the complete anime series and the three previous films in the series as new editions on disc.

The global catastrophe “Second Impact” has wiped out half of the world's population. Fourteen-year-old Shinji Ikari is ordered to the city of TOKYO-3 by his estranged father. There, however, no forgiving reunion with his father awaits him. Instead, he learns that he is one of the few youths who possess the ability to pilot the EVANGELION robots (EVAs) and fight the fearsome ANGELS. The ANGELS are out to exterminate the human race. Initially discouraged, Shinji decides to face his destiny and fight for human survival.
