First trailer for "Mortal Kombat 1" – All information about the soft reboot at a glance
May 20, 2023
The first trailer for the next installment of Mortal Kombat was recently released. Instead of Mortal Kombat 12, however, this one will be called Mortal Kombat 1 . Another game where it's hard to talk about part 1… well, the first one… the one from 1992… you get my meaning.
The render trailer (see below) doesn't show any game scenes yet, but it does show the game's main storyline. The fire god Liu Kang creates a new world and gives the inhabitants the choice whether they want to live in peace or fight for life again.
Of course, the decision is easy. After all, players want to see the blood flow. The trailer doesn't mince words and already shows with crushed heads that the Fatalities will be wonderfully brutal again.
Amazon reveals additional content
As soon as the trailer was released, information about Kombat Pack 1 appeared on the internet. Amazon Italy accidentally leaked the DLC characters that will be available after release. Alongside Quan Chi , Ermac , and Takeda , there will also be two suitably brutal guest appearances: Omni Man from the animated series Invincible and The Boys ' Homelander . Both series are about superheroes who are actually not that super and heroic. They are too powerful to be hospitalized as psychopaths, leaving the world vulnerable to them.
With Tremor , Johnny Cage , Khameleon , Mavado and Ferra we also get some familiar characters in the form of costumes. And here, too, there is a guest appearance with legendary actor Jean Claude Van Damme .
The publisher Warner Bros. Games has already announced the release date. The game will be released on September 19, 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Starting with the Premium Edition, the DLC content is also included. There will also be a beta for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in August for those who have pre-ordered the game. You can pre-order Mortal Kombat 1 here .
