Isekai fans can look forward to a new series! It was recently announced on Twitter that the light novel I'm in Love with the Villainess (Jap. Watashi no oshi wa Akuyakureijō , Wataoshi for short) by Inori will soon receive an anime.
I'm in Love with the Villainess will air in Japan throughout 2023 . Along with the announcement, a first visual and a teaser were released. Both can be seen below in the article. The first details about the staff and cast were also announced in this context.
Accordingly, the new Isekai anime is being created at Studio Platinum Vision and directed by Hideaki Oba. Character design is contributed by Youko Satou and music is composed by Noriyuki Asakura. The two female leads are cast with Yu Serizawa as Rei Ohashi/Rae Taylor and Karin Nanami as Claire François.
An exact start date or a possible simulcast are not known to date. If this changes, we will of course report about it.
I'm in Love with the Villainess is based on Inori's light novel of the same name, illustrated by Hanagata. The novel was published in Japan by Ichijinsha from 2019 to 2021. The series is completed in five volumes. Inori previously published the series online at Shōsetsuka ni Narō. A German-language version does not yet exist. However, the publisher Seven Seas Entertainment has secured the rights to an English translation and has already released all five volumes.
The manga adaptation penned by Anoshimo will also be published by Seven Seas. To date, three volumes have appeared in translation and five in the Japanese original.

This is what I'm in Love with the Villainess is about:
The humble office worker Rei Ohashi wakes up in the body of the protagonist of her favorite otome game Revolution . Much to her delight, the first character to greet her is also her all-time favorite Claire François – the main antagonist of the story! From now on, Rei is anxious to start a relationship with Claire instead of the game's male protagonists. But how will her mischievous love interest react to being courted?!
