Crunchyroll Anime Night 2023: These are the first anime movies in the new year

As the current year draws to a close, there is initial information about Crunchyroll's 2023 cinema program. The Berlin-based anime label recently announced the first anime films that will celebrate their German premiere next year at Crunchyroll Anime Night 2023.
The latest feature film from the Mobile Suit Gundam mecha universe, Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island , will open Crunchyroll Anime Night 2023 on February 28, 2023 in numerous cinemas in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
As already reported , Crunchyroll was also able to secure The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie and will bring it to local cinemas on March 28, 2023 with German dubbing and in the Japanese language version with German subtitles. Advance ticket sales are expected to start on November 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the participating cinemas.
In April next year there will even be a double feature with the first two films by Princess Principal: Crown Handler , which will celebrate its German premiere in Germany on April 25, 2023 .
Crunchyroll Anime Night takes place on the last Tuesday of each month. Participating cinemas in Germany, Austria and Switzerland have the opportunity to show the anime films in the original Japanese with subtitles or in the German dubbed version.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan's Island

The year is Universal Century 0079. In the War of Independence between the colonies of the Principality of Zeon and the Earth Federation, Cadet Amuro Ray fights in the cockpit of the snow-white Mobile Suit Gundam. After successfully defending Jaburo, the Federation plans another offensive against Zeon's invasion headquarters in Odessa. Ray Amuro and his team are en route to Belfast when they receive a new assignment. They are to travel to the "Island of no Return" to intercept the Zeon's stragglers there. Instead of enemy spies, however, Amuro only finds a small group of children and a Zaku Mobile Suite. He also meets a strange man who calls himself Cucuruz Doan. His presence is closely intertwined with the secret the island hides, and when Amuro finds out about him, his life is in danger.
