"The Slime Diaries": New details on the planned disc release
October 24, 2022
It has been known since January that Crunchyroll (formerly KAZÉ Anime) has secured the spin-off series The Slime Diaries (Jap. Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Tensura Nikki ) and will soon be launching it. After a while of no news, more details about the disc release have now been revealed.
The slime diaries are expected to be released on disc by Crunchyroll in the first quarter of 2023. The first volume will also be available as a limited edition with a collector's slipcase. Further information on this is to follow.
Like the first and second seasons, Slime Diaries was created at Studio 8bit and directed by Yuji Ikuhara. The first broadcast on Japanese TV took place between April and June 2021, while Crunchyroll showed the anime with German subtitles in the simulcast. The spin-off takes place alongside the first season of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and contains scenes that didn't make it into the main storyline.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is based on the light novel series of the same name by author Fuse and illustrator Mitz Vah, which has been published in Japan since 2013. In German-speaking countries, the publishing house Altraverse publishes both the light novel and the manga adaptation.
