A few days ago the publisher EA announced a new partnership between EA Originals, KOEI TECMO and the studio Omega Force. Together they want to develop the next big AAA hunting game, set in a fantasy interpretation of feudal Japan. EA has now released the first trailer for the game in question, which is called Wild Hearts and is expected to be released on February 17, 2023 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and the PC.
In Wild Hearts you use so-called karakuri, which means “mechanism” in Japanese and stands for mechanical automation in industrial production. You need these sophisticated mechanisms to hunt down huge beasts called kemono. Kemono is a Japanese word for wild animal and is used primarily in art for drawings of animal-like characters in human settings.
Yosuke Hayashi, Executive Vice President of KOEI TECMO GAMES CO, LTD: " We are honored to partner with EA Originals and benefit from the support of a team that has released so many incredible and groundbreaking new games. […] EA enables us to bring a new kind of hunting game to a global audience and expand our reach into global markets. I'm really looking forward to the day when players from all over the world can experience our new game. ”
The developer Omega Force is part of KOEI TECMO GAMES and responsible for cult games such as the popular Warriors series. The studio also worked on series like Attack on Titan , Dragon Quest , Fire Emblem , Hyrule Warriors and more. At the beginning of October they want to present a gameplay trailer for Wild Hearts .
This is what Wild Hearts is about:
In Wild Hearts you roam the country either solo or with up to two friends in co-op. Similar to Monster Hunter, you go hunting for huge monsters to get loot. You can hunt together with friends, join other hunters in the game world or face the creatures alone. You should be able to play Wild Hearts crossplay across all platforms.
