"We are extremely excited to finally be able to show the next generation of TEKKEN," said Katsuhiro Harada, Chief Producer of Bandai Namco Studios. “The team at Bandai Namco Studios has been hard at work on groundbreaking new features that are coming to TEKKEN 8. These further improve the feeling of the fights and use the full power of the current generation of consoles. We can't wait to show players more over the next few months!"
"We can't wait to show off the amazing new features, characters and story this new episode brings and most importantly how it will evolve the fighting game genre," added Arnaud Muller, CEO Bandai Namco Europe SAS .
A certain section of the story mode can already be seen in the almost two-minute reveal trailer. The trailer shows a recording on the PlayStation 5 and thus the real character models, backgrounds and effects as they are expected to be in the final game. Since the game is still in development, there may still be some changes before the release.

Here's what TEKKEN 8 is all about:
TEKKEN is a beat em up that saw the light of day back in the days of the Playstation. Back then, it was one of the first games to introduce the 3D fighting game genre. For more than 25 years now, the series has delighted fighting game fans around the world. Did you know? The TEKKEN series currently holds the record for the longest running story in a video game. That doesn't change in the latest offshoot of the series either.
TEKKEN 8 picks up right after the gruesome battle that ended in Heihachi Mishima's defeat. But the focus is different now, because now only Jin Kazama can stop his father, Kazuya Mishima, before he takes over the world.
