Cinema list for the German cinema release of "The Deer King" revealed

KSM Anime is bringing Production I.G's anime film The Deer King (Jap. Shika no Ou ) to numerous theaters next month. Appropriately, the anime label from Wiesbaden unveiled the official cinemas.

The Deer King will be released in German and Austrian cinemas between September 15 and 18, 2022 with a German soundtrack and in the original version with German subtitles. You can find an overview of all participating cinemas on the landing page set up by PLAION PICTURES.

For the German implementation, KSM Anime commissioned the dubbing company KÖLNSYNCHRON, where Daniel Käser directed the dialogue and wrote the dialogue book. You can find a preview of the first ten minutes of The Deer King below this article.

The Deer King is based on the fantasy novel by Nahoko Uehashi. The studio Production IG was responsible for the anime adaptation, which was directed by Masayuki Miyaji and Masashi Ando. Before The Deer King had its Japanese theatrical premiere on February 4, 2022, the anime film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France in June 2021.

This is what The Deer King is about:

In a country plagued by a terrible disease, there live a man named Van and a young girl named Yuna. When a salt mine was attacked by wild dogs, the two just manage to escape. But even a simple life in the country is not granted to either of them. Physician Hossal believes that her blood could put an end to the disease. So the two find themselves in a situation far bigger than anything they ever imagined…
