RomCom title »Tomo-chan Is a Girl!« will be adapted as anime & simulcast

During Crunchyroll's panel at this year's Anime Expo in Los Angeles, the streaming service announced that Fumita Yanagida's rom-com manga Tomo-chan Is a Girl! (Jap. Tomo-chan wa Onnanoko! ) gets an anime adaptation. A simulcast has also been announced.

Tomo-chan Is a Girl! is being directed by Hitoshi Nanba at Studio Lay-duce, with Megumi Shimizu serving as screenwriter. Character design is by Shiori Hiraiwa and Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music for the series.

The upcoming RomCom anime is expected to premiere on TV in January 2023, while Crunchyroll has already secured the license and will simulcast the series. You can find a first trailer and a key visual under this post.

Fumita Yanagida's Manga Series Tomo-chan Is a Girl! appeared between April 2015 and July 2019 on the Saizensen website and the Twi4 Twitter account. The series is considered complete with a total of eight volumes.

Tomo-chan and Junichiro have been best friends since they were kids, but ever since they started high school, Tomo-chan has wanted to be more than just a friend for him… Too bad Junichiro sees her as one of the boys and not a girl.
