After the great success of the anime adaptation of Ken Wakui's Tokyo Revengers , a sequel was announced in December 2021. There has been no further news since then, but recently there was an update on the second season on the official Twitter account.
With the release of the first visual (see below), the production team announced the launch date for the upcoming second season of Tokyo Revengers . According to the tweet, Tokyo Revengers Christmas Showdown will premiere in Japan in January 2023.
In addition, with the exception of Tatsuhisa Suzuki, the well-known Japanese voice cast returns for the sequel. After Tatsuhisa Suzuki retires from the industry for a while, Masaya Fukunishi lends his voice to the character Ken "Draken" Ryūgūji in the second season. However, no further details are known at this time.
The first season of Tokyo Revengers aired in Japan between April and September 2021 with 24 episodes. Studio Liden Films undertook the production of the action series, which was directed by Koichi Hatsumi and written by Yasuyuki Muto. All episodes are available on Crunchyroll in the original version with German subtitles as well as with German dubbing.
Ken Wakui's original manga series is out in Weekly Shōnen Magazine since March 2017 and currently comprises 28 volumes, with Carlsen Manga selling the manga in a double-volume edition in German in Germany and already offering 12 volumes.
