»BELLE« will be released as an Ultimate Edition exclusively at Anime Planet

Starting today, anime fans can marvel at the new film BELLE by director Mamoru Hosoda in German cinemas for a short time. In keeping with this, KSM Anime today announced a special edition for the upcoming home video release of the sci-fi fantasy anime.
Already a month ago we reported about the first details about the home video release of BELLE . As KSM Anime has now revealed, in addition to the standard edition on DVD and Blu-ray and the limited Steelbook Edition on Blu-ray (exclusive to Amazon), there will also be a limited 4-disc Ultimate Edition on DVD and Blu-ray.
The Ultimate Edition, limited to 4,444 Blu-ray and 555 DVD, is available as a hinged, highly refined hardcover box and, in addition to the film, also contains numerous extras, such as around six hours of bonus material with various interviews, behind-the-scenes recordings and much more more. The Blu-ray version includes a 4K UHD Blu-ray with Dolby Vision, HDR10 and even a Japanese soundtrack in Dolby Atmos 7.1.2. Other planned extras of the edition are:

This special Ultimate Edition is expected to be released exclusively on Anime Planet 's online shop on July 21, 2022 and can already be pre-ordered there. Below this article you will find the cover design of the box.
BELLE will be available in around 300 participating cinemas in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland from June 9, 2022. A cinema list with all participating cinemas can be found on the Koch Films website , which was specially set up for the German cinema release.
Director Mamoru Hosoda, who also wrote the screenplay for BELLE , is known for films such as Ame & Yuki – The Wolf Children , The Girl Who Leapt Through Time or Summer Wars . BELLE was created at Studio Chizu, while Jin Kim was in charge of character design, which was animated by Hiroyuki Aoyama. The music was composed by Taisei Iwasaki.

17-year-old Suzu lives with her father in a rural town in Kochi Prefecture. When she was little, Suzu's mother died in an accident. She never got over this loss and for years she has only been a shadow of herself. One day she ends up in »U«, a virtual world in »Another Reality« with five billion users. There she is no longer Suzu but Belle, a world famous singer. In this virtual world, Belle encounters a mysterious dragon-like creature who is feared in »U«. Together they embark on a journey to find their true self.
