New details on the Blu-ray re-release of »Detective Conan«

After KAZÉ Anime announced in February 2022 that it was releasing the popular anime classic Detective Conan on Blu-ray, the Berlin-based anime label revealed further details in its latest newsletter today.
According to this, KAZÉ Anime plans to release the first Blu-ray box of Detective Conan on May 19, 2022, which will contain the first 36 episodes of the series in German and for the first time also in the original Japanese version with German subtitles. A 12-page booklet with an episode guide is also listed as an extra. A pre-order is currently not possible.
The Berlin-based anime label also announced that the Japanese HD material will be used, which contains other previously unseen scenes. The original German soundtrack was adapted to the image material, but cannot be fully applied to the partially different cut version. That is why the Japanese language version with German subtitles is added to the few passages for which there is no German soundtrack.
In recent years, the Berlin-based anime label has already released 16 Detective Conan boxes on DVD, covering the first 5 seasons (433 episodes).
Detective Conan has been broadcast in Japan since January 1996 and currently includes more than 1,000 episodes, 24 films and various specials. ProSieben MAXX regularly showed the classic on free TV, which will also be broadcasting new episodes this year (we reported ). Streaming provider Crunchyroll also has the first 433 episodes and 22 films on offer.
