This is what SWORD ART ONLINE is all about:

Student Kazuto Kirigiya was allowed to test the beta version of the role-playing game Sword Art Online under his pseudonym "Kirito". Like many others, he can hardly wait for the game to finally go online. The special thing about it: Thanks to a so-called NerveGear, you can completely immerse yourself in the medieval virtual world called Aincrad. As one of 10,000 players, Kirito roams enthusiastically through the world of Sword Art Online shortly after the start – until he realizes that he can no longer log out. What initially looks like a bug turns out to be pure intention: the developer of the game announces that nobody can leave this virtual world until the bosses of all 100 levels have been defeated. And: If you die in the game, you also lose your life in reality!
