This is what Tokyo Ghoul √A is about:

As the fight between CCG and the Phoenix Tree approaches its bloody finale, the friends from Cafe Antik are able to leave the battlefield without casualties. Nevertheless, after this night nothing will be the same as before: The investigators decide on a new offensive to push back the strengthened ghouls. And Ken, once a regular college student and bookworm, has now fully embraced his inner ghoul. After the cruel encounter with the gecko, it seems that not only his appearance but also his soul has changed. When Toka Ken meets again, the joy is accordingly short-lived.
