LEONINE Anime is giving »The Garden of Words« a new edition

LEONINE Anime is giving another anime film by director Makoto Shinkai a new edition. An entry on the online retailer Amazon recently revealed that the anime label had secured the license to The Garden of Words (Japanese Kotonoha no Niwa ).
The Garden of Words will be re-released as an HD Keep Case on DVD and Blu-ray and is expected to be available on June 24, 2022. As an extra, a filmography and an interview by Makoto Shinkai, the storyboard for the film and trailer are listed.
The anime film was first released on March 31, 2014 by KAZÉ Anime in German-speaking countries. The Garden of Words was produced by CoMix Wave Films studio, with Makoto Shinkai directing and writing the screenplay.
After LEONINE Anime previously with Your Name. and Weathering With You only released the two latest works by Makoto Shinkai, LEONINE already licensed 5 Centimeters per Second and Die Reise nach Agartha last year, both of which were given a new edition on DVD and Blu-ray.

Takao wants to be a shoemaker and is doing an apprenticeship. However, vocational school is not for him. He much prefers to draw new shoe sketches in a Japanese garden all day long. There he also meets a mysterious woman named Yukino, whom he only meets there – by chance – on rain bears. While they couldn't be more different, the two grow closer as time goes on. But the rainy season will end soon…
