12 times faster than iPhone 13: Oppo shows spectacular Fast Charging
With a full 240 watts, the new fast charging technology from Oppo can fill smartphones with electricity. This means that a 4,500 mAh battery can be fully charged in just nine minutes, exceeding Apple's charging technology many times over.
The "240W SUPERVOOC" charging technology works with five safety measures. This includes a specially made control chip that monitors voltage, current flow and temperature. Despite the rapid power transmission, the heat development should remain within limits, as MacRumors writes with reference to Oppo. Oppo has not yet revealed when the first smartphones with the fastest cell phone charging technology to date will come onto the market.
First comes 150-watt charging
Oppo is a little more specific about the introduction of a second new charging technology. "150W SUPERVOOC" will be released for certain OnePlus smartphones in the second quarter of 2022. It will allow users to fully charge a 4,500 mAh battery in 15 minutes. This charging technique works in tandem with Oppo's Battery Health Engine, which the company introduced with the Find X5 smartphones. This function ensures that the battery still retains 80 percent of its capacity after 1,600 charging cycles. That's twice the industry standard of 800 charge cycles.
The current record is 120 watts
On the Apple side, the iPhone 13 Pro Max is the phone that charges the fastest. However, the maximum here is 27 watts, a fraction of the new Oppo charging techniques. In the Android camp, the current charging kings are the Vivo iQOO 7 and the Xiaomi 11T Pro , which can be filled with 120 watt power supplies.
