In November last year we reported that Hardball Films had secured the license for the anime classic Murder Princess and released it on DVD and for the first time on Blu-ray. More details about the new edition are now known.

Murder Princess is expected to be available on May 5, 2022 as a complete edition that includes the complete six-part OVA series with German and Japanese voiceovers. A poster, three postcards and the clean opening and ending are listed as extras. A pre-order via Amazon is already possible.

The dark fantasy anime first aired on Japanese TV between March and August 2007 and was produced by Studio Bee Train and directed by Tomoyuki Kurokawa. The OVA series is based on the manga of the same name by Sekihiko Inui.

In Germany, Murder Princess was first released on DVD in 2008 by Anime Virtual. The manga, on the other hand, is not yet available in Germany.

WHAT IS MURDER PRINCESS ABOUT :

In a coup d'état in the kingdom of Forland, the king and his court are assassinated by former court scientist Professor Akamashi and his killer puppets. Only the young princess Arita manages to escape the slaughter. On her escape, she collides with the notorious bounty hunter Falis, both of whom fall off a cliff.

But instead of dying, the souls of the unequal girls switch bodies.
