Xiaomi has just announced its new update policy . A very important change that will debut with the arrival of the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro , guaranteeing the update of their smartphones for a longer period of time .

Likewise, the company itself has announced it through its official website, clarifying the new changes that we will see coming from next September 15 and that will allow us to extend the useful life of our smartphones .

Up to 4 years of security and 3 operating system updates

As stated by Xiaomi, the arrival of the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11T Pro will mark a before and after in the update period of their new smartphones. In this way, the new models that are launched in the coming years will benefit from a longer guaranteed update period .

In itself, the company's new smartphones will be backed by up to 3 years of guaranteed updates in terms of the operating system , that is, updates to the Android version (before it offered approximately 2 years). Added to this are 4 guaranteed years of security updates (security patches).

Albert Shan, Head of Product and Technology at Xiaomi International, has stated that the objective of this change is that its users can stay longer with the same mobile device without having to renew it .
