The OnePlus Nord 2 5G is here! The smartphone takes over the 50-megapixel camera from the high-end OnePlus 9 Pro. The new processor is also much faster on the road.
The successor to the first OnePlus Nord also shows content on a high-contrast AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90 Hertz. This ensures a fluid display of movements such as scrolling, but the even higher frame rate of 120 Hertz is reserved for the flagships. The 6.43-inch display only has a full HD resolution. The main camera, however, relies on the sensor called Sony IMX766, which is responsible for ultra-wide-angle recordings on the OnePlus 9 Pro.

The main camera has a resolution of 50 megapixels and is optically stabilized for blur-free recordings. The "Ultra Nightscape" mode is said to be able to conjure up beautiful pictures with a single candle even in low lighting, the "Night Portrait" mode is responsible for night portraits. The selfie camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels, and "Dual View Video" allows videos to be recorded with the main and selfie cameras at the same time. Apart from the main camera, there is also an 8-megapixel lens at the back for ultra-wide-angle photos, such as landscape shots, and a monochrome sensor that helps with portraits.

The processor is the new MediaTek Dimensity 1200-AI, which is said to offer 65 percent higher CPU performance and 125 percent better graphics performance compared to the Snapdragon 765G in the OnePlus Nord. It is supported by 6 GB of memory for the model with 128 GB of internal memory and 8 GB of memory for the model with 256 GB of internal memory. The 4,500 mAh battery can be charged with 65 watts, and 40 minutes are sufficient for a full charge. There are Android updates for two years and security updates for three years.
The OnePlus Nord 5G goes on sale on July 28th. The 128 GB model costs 399 euros, the 256 GB model hikes over the counter for 509 euros. The colors available will be Gray Sierra, Blue Haze and Green Wood.
