
The new Redmi K40 Gaming Edition is now official and comes at a brutal price
Xiaomi has just made its first gaming smartphone official. We are talking about the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition , a terminal that we have been talking about for a few weeks and that has finally made its debut showing us all its features and perhaps most importantly, its price.
In itself, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition comes as something more than a gaming smartphone, taking care not only of its performance, but also of its appearance. In view of this, Xiaomi has managed to create a terminal that is only 8.3mm thick and weighs no more than 205 grams .
Of course, the rest of its design takes quite striking and aggressive lines , making it clear that it is a gaming smartphone. Although its front could go unnoticed, its rear area adds a much more radical look.
Redmi K40 Gaming Edition, main features
The new Redmi K40 Gaming Edition features a 6.67-inch OLED screen . Its refresh rate reaches 120Hz , while the sample rate rises up to 480Hz . It is also compatible with HDR10 + and adds a total of 8,192 levels of brightness.
Inside, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition has a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 capable of coping with other high-end processors. In combination, an advanced VC (vapor chamber) type refrigeration system is added.
Beyond that, this first Xiaomi gaming mobile has two physical buttons capable of improving the gaming experience. These are retractable, being totally hidden within their structure once we don't need them.
When it comes to photography, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition has a 64MP hybrid camera capable of capturing a large amount of light. Along with this is added a wide angle with 120º vision and a 40mm macro lens capable of offering us fun photographs.
For the rest, the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition has stereo speakers and JBL audio technology , WiFi 6, NFC and a 5,065mAh battery with 67W fast charge. It also has IP53 certification, Dual GPS, MIUI 12.5 by default and adds an L-shaped cable to improve grip while we play.
Price and availability of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition
At the moment the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition will only be sold in China from next April 30, although it may end up reaching the global market under the Xiaomi or POCO brand. Its price, depending on its capacity, is:
