ZTE Axon 20: First mobile phone with selfie camera in the display available

The innovative ZTE Axon 20 is now available for 400 euros. It is the first smartphone with a selfie camera in the display. So there is no notch or pop-up camera and a practically frameless design.
The ZTE Axon 20's selfie camera cannot be seen from the outside. It is located in the middle on the top of the device's 6.92-inch OLED display. Such technology has not yet existed in smartphones. As GSMArena writes in a hands-on report, the camera is most likely to be made out with a light background image, as the pixels in this area take on a different color. However, when the display is switched off or the background image is dark, the camera is virtually invisible.

Selfie photos rather average
In terms of photo quality, the selfies with the 32-megapixel camera supposedly look soft and there is a glowing effect around the subject. However, this is the first generation of the technology and therefore top performance is not yet to be expected. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor under the display and the individual loudspeaker is located at the bottom of the housing. There is a thin, black frame on the chin of the smartphone, but otherwise it is virtually frameless. As Android Authority noted in a video , one of the advantages of the technology is that it is easier to see what you are talking to in video chat.
With four cameras in the back
Otherwise, the ZTE Axon 20 is at home in the upper mid-range. The rare Tiger T618 and 6 GB of RAM serve as the processor. The internal memory measures 128 GB and the battery has a capacity of 4,220 mAh. Fast charging is possible with 15 watts. On the back is a 64-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, a depth of field module for portraits and a 2-megapixel lens for macro shots of small things like flowers and insects. The back is made of glass, the frame of metal.
