
Xiaomi will again sit in court after allegedly violating a German patent
A few weeks after part of its applications were blocked by the Indian government , Xiaomi is once again immersed in a new controversy after being sued in German courts for allegedly violating a patent registered in that country .
And it is that apparently, HEVC Advance Licensors has decided to take Xiaomi to the courts of Dusseldorf, accusing the brand of having carried out an infringement of the HEVC / H.265 digital video codec patent .
According to HEVC Advance Licensors, this complaint is directed not only at Xiaomi, but also at other manufacturers such as Vestel . In the case of Xiaomi, the accusation is mainly directed at its smartphones, which appear to infringe the terms of use of the HEVC / H.265 patent.
