The expectations of fans for "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" are high, as the upcoming series on Disney + is directly linked to the events from "Avengers: Endgame". After the big crossover film, leading actor Sebastian Stan is looking forward to striking a more "down-to-earth" tone again – just like in "The Return of the First Avenger".
"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" reminded him of the second "Captain America" solo film, explains Winter Soldier actor Sebastian Stan in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter .
"In many ways the series felt like a film. What I loved about it is that it is tonally very much in the same world as 'The Return of the First Avenger'. The film is one of my favorite shooting experiences that I have ever had, "said the actor. "The film was down to earth and mostly played in a world as we know it. But it is also crammed with a lot of massive action scenes mixed with character-centered sequences."
Sebastian Stan sees a clear advantage in series format
In one point, "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" is even a step ahead of the comic book adaptation "The Return of the First Avenger", Stan enthuses. "These characters get so much more runtime that we can get to know them better. We can put them in situations where we could never expose them because we now have six hours instead of two."
Alongside Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie will return as Falcon's successor to Captain America. Daniel Brühl will also appear as villain Baron Zemo and Emily VanCamp as CIA agent Sharon Carter in "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier". However, the filming of the series is currently interrupted due to the rampant corona pandemic.
