Xiaomi expands Mi Cloud plans with a new “for life” subscription
Cloud storage allows us to worry that our smartphone or any other physical medium deteriorates and consequently we lose our stored data. Thanks to the arrival of the cloud we can save our photos, videos, contacts and all kinds of information with the guarantee that they will last, in principle, for life.
For its part, Xiaomi has My Cloud , a subscription service that now offers us a new single payment plan for the next 60 years . Whether 50 or 200GB, this new option allows us to worry, almost for life, of having to pay for the service.
In addition, another new 10-year option has been added that depending on the program chosen, its prices are:
- Platinum Program (200GB)
- Cloud storage for 10 years – 639 yuan (€ 84)
- Cloud storage for 60 years – 1,599 yuan (€ 211)
- Gold Program (50GB)
- Cloud storage for 10 years – 199 yuan (€ 26)
- Cloud storage for 60 years – 499 yuan (€ 66)
Also, the options of 1, 3, 6 and 12 months are still available for subscription. The question is, will 200GB be enough by 60 years? Probably not…
Just go back 5 or 10 years and see how much a video or photograph took, to realize that we need a lot more space. Maybe 200GB today is enough but probably, in just 5 or more fair, 10 years, 200GB is a ridiculous size.
