Snapdragon 855+, a new Qualcomm processor that we could see in the next gaming smartphones

The denominations Pro and Plus seem to be fashionable. Just take a look at much of the technological devices of consumption, to verify that most manufacturers integrate these words in their products in order to launch an improved version that sometimes is not usually so much .

And is that now, the American company has announced the new Snapdragon 855+ , a new version of the current Snapdragon 855 to which an overclock has been applied in order to get a somewhat more powerful processor , aimed above all at gaming fever. Basically, we found the same internal structure as Qualcomm's current high-end processor, but to which an increase in frequencies has been applied.

Specifically, this new Snapdragon 855+ increases the frequency of its Kryo 485 cores from the 2.84GHz of the normal version, to 2.96GHz . Also in the GPU section, the Adreno 640 increases its frequency up to 15% , a quite noticeable difference especially in video games. In terms of RAM support, storage and support of photographic sensors, everything remains the same.

Another change we find that we find in this Snapdragon 855+ is the integration of an X24 LTE modem , being optional the inclusion of an X50 modem and thus provide a 5G connectivity. As we said, these small changes are focused on the gaming world, since this new modem will allow to enjoy a much lower latency .

Undoubtedly, a new processor that although at levels of conventional operation does not provide a great advance, if it does it facing the gaming sector, focusing also on the use of glasses for Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality .
