Is "Resident Evil 8" under development?
From official side there is no announcement of "Resident Evil 8". A teaser on the E3 2019 was missing. Nevertheless, we are pretty sure that the development has already begun.
The reason: Already two infamous "Resi" -Leaker have tweeted information about the upcoming scary game from Capcom. EvilVR and AestheticGamer both independently confirm that a small team should be in the planning phase of the upcoming game. Apparently, the concept is developed by Capcom itself – in contrast to the remake of "Resident Evil 3", which is implemented according to previous information by an external team.
In addition, Resume Evil 7 producer Jun Takeuchi, in a making-of predecessor, said Capcom is already developing new plans for the next game.
What is the next game?
Also in this question are so far only speculation in space. EvilVR claims to have learned from insiders that "Resident Evil 8" is playing on a deserted island. On this is supposed to be a secret research laboratory. The player allegedly gets the task to find out what is behind the bio-weapon Eveline from Part 7. In addition, hallucinations should play a major role. When playing it should not be so easy to distinguish between dream and reality.
In fact, EvilVR could be right with his assessment: producer Takeuchi announced in the making-of mentioned above that the adventures of Ethan Winters are the prelude to a series. However, he also says in the same interview that "Resident Evil" may look very different in the future than in the current episode.
Will "Resident Evil 8" support VR glasses?
"Resident Evil 7" was the first game in the series, which brought gamer directly into the skin of the protagonist using VR glasses. It is quite possible that Capcom will continue to rely on Virtual Reality in the future: Takeuchi emphasized to the release of the predecessor, that his team always think about the direction in which the genre of survival horror could develop.
However, there is still no official confirmation and the industry insiders are still silent on VR.
