DIY: Remote Control Dimmer Box

Ever want to toss a dimmer on a floor/table lamp but when you got to Bed Bath and Boring they were charging $20+ for a plug in dimmer? I have one word for that... REDONCULOUS!  In the spirit of "Tim the Tool Man Taylor" (a source of my inspiration) haha, I say lets build one with "More Power"! <insert grunts>....

Miracle Material: J-B Weld 8237 Kwik Plastic

I have for years loved JB-Weld products.  For those who don't know there're products, go check them out.  However basicaly they offer a line of expoxies and fillers that would give Harry Potter a run for his money.

Recycle that Projector mount.

Last night a friend of mine needed a LCD mount to temporarily mount his 22" LCD monitor.  It was after the stores were closed and well I believe that radio shack doesn't deserve my $32 when I have something I can substitute.  More info after the Jump!

Fix your bluetooth Headset!

Have you ever accidentally busted the "ear bud" part of your bluetooh headset off and thought well crap have to go buy a new one.  Well here is a litle trick to repair it good as new!  In just a few minutes I was able to fix my BlueAnt Q1.

Matterials Needed:
  • Super Glue
  • An old ear bud head set you don't mind destroying (pick one that has the size buds that fit your ear and are comforatable).

One Dusty Cooling System!

I've been living in Manhattan for almost 8 years now, and this one takes the cake, I mean really are we breath this stuff in everyday?

This is what my Corsair H50 Liquid Cooling system looked like after ONLY 1 year of operation! Needless to say it was operating at reduced efficiency until I cleaned it.

Have a look.
