Update: Acer Iconia A500 Tablet:

i've been the proud owner of the Acer Iconia A500 tablet for about 2 months now.  I thought it was time for a update and follow up post/review on its been going

If you've been using my how-to on rooting your Acer, there have been some major  developments since then. (see updated post).

Update 6/29/2011

This video how-to is only for 3.0. or 3.0.1, if you have updated to Honeycomb 3.1, the procedure is a bit different now.

For Android 3.1

  • Download to your tablet the following: file
  • Goto Settings->Applications and enable "Unkown sources"
  • Copy the file to your Iconia (if you downlowded it to your computer)
  • Install the APK & start the tool
  • Click "root"

I was thinking this as I setup my 27" iMac and 27" cinema display here at my office.  That is allot of Desktop Real-estate!  But how did we get here?  It wasn't that long ago we were starring at a flickering VGA screen thinking, wow 256 colors!  Find out more after the jump!

What Would MacGyver Do?

 

Yesterday i was filming 2 upcoming how-to's and i realized i had lent a friend my video camera, kind of hard to film without one right? not so! with some good old fashioned "macguyvering" and my trusty iPhone 4 i was able to finish my task, and the fix was as simple as one paperclip some bailing wire a stick of chewed gum (eww), hah kidding find out after the jump!

First Impressions: Apple iOS 5, Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Imitation is the highest form of flattery as they say, and looks like the droid should feel mighty flattered!  As the (fabulous don't you think?) graphic suggests it seems Apple has decided to "adopt" a few of Google’s ever improving mobile OS features.
